These controls change optional analytics, not the cookie-free interaction counts or Cloudflare's hosting logs. Rejecting does not delete cookies already set by Google. Clear this site's data in browser settings to remove those cookies.

Storage the site needs

The site's own code sets no cookies. It saves two things in your browser's local storage, and only after you use them:

  • tqf:lights:v1: your light switch setting, which decides whether the sections that could spoil the game start lit or dimmed
  • orbitmate:cookie-consent:v1: your choice in the analytics banner, saved when you pick Accept or Reject in the banner or inline settings

If local storage cannot save the analytics choice, session storage is tried. If both writes fail, a rejection marker is saved in the current page’s browser history entry so the withdrawal reload remains rejected. This marker never grants consent and does not leave your device. If browser storage and history saving are blocked while an analytics script is loaded, the withdrawal reload uses the denial-only #analytics-rejected fragment in the page address. That fragment does not grant consent and is removed if you explicitly Accept later. If no analytics script is loaded and every saving method is blocked, the choice only applies to the current document.

These stay on your device. You can remove local and session preferences by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. The rejection marker in the current browser history entry is cleared when you change the choice to Accept.

Choosing Save notes in the keypad helper also stores its scene, step and digit notes locally under quiet:keypad:v1. Reset notes removes them. They are not tracking identifiers and are not sent in interaction counts.

Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics and our own interaction counts run on every page without cookies or local storage. The Privacy Policy lists what they count.

Google Analytics 4 is off until you choose Accept in the analytics banner or inline settings. After that, Google sets two cookies on this site:

  • _ga: tells one browser from another, kept for up to 2 years
  • _ga_<ID>: keeps track of the current visit, kept for up to 2 years

To change your choice, use the inline controls above or the Analytics settings button at the bottom of the page. Choosing Reject stops Google Analytics and reloads the page; cookies it already set stay until they expire or you clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Game and guide pages display one Adsterra Banner when opened, independently of optional analytics preferences. Adsterra and its partners may receive your IP address, browser information and referring site, and use cookies or similar identifiers for ad delivery and measurement. The site's analytics Accept/Reject controls do not disable advertising. See Adsterra’s privacy policy and cookie information. We do not send your saved game progress or contact drafts to the ad placement. An advertisement is not our endorsement.
